More Stress Relief Thoughts
September 22, 2007 at 11:49 pm | In Stress Release | 2 CommentsCan we ever get enough stress relief? I think not. I’m all for spa days, massages, lounging by a pool or a beach, curling up on the sofa with a good book, or just plain daydreaming. But what is stress relief really? When can we access it? And what about controlling it?
Stress relief is the feeling of relief. Relief is that feeling you get when a weight has been lifted (small or large), and you can release the tension that was being carried. Think about it, as you’ve gone through life, one of the best feelings in the world has been that feeling of relief when you’ve let go of something that was bothering you, or you finished a big project and were able to leave it behind. Right now, if there is something that is bothering you, can you think a thought about it that brings you even the tiniest feeling of relief about it? I know you can, if you give it a chance. That feeling of relief is the sign that you’re going in the most loving and useful direction in relation to the original problem. You are following the call of Source!
If you’re struggling at all with coming up with a thought that brings this blessed relief, please know that it does take some practice. The question of when do we have access to stress relief is answered in one word: immediately. We immediately and always have access to stress release, but it does take practice. Luckily, the practice is usually fun and always rewarding! It all begins with a thought, that all-powerful process that is associated with your brain. You are in charge of your thoughts — no one else can think for you. You can certainly get ideas from others, but you and you alone are accepting these ideas or not. Keep practicing thoughts that bring relief to any and all problems in your life, and you are well on your way to serenity.
Serenity is that place where the soul resides. From your higher-self perspective, everything is perfect (including you and all the situations you find yourself in!), and there is no need to “control” anything because of this perfection. In terms of this earth plane, here and now, you can, at any time, tap into your higher-self perspective of serenity and peace by changing the way you think about your problems. This is the best form of “control” there is. It’s not about making anyone else conform to you, but helping yourself to think more positive thoughts about a specific situation, thereby changing the situation.
I’ll give you an example. Christy was a verbally abused teenager. Her father was the most common source of the abuse. He was constantly criticizing her for everything from her looks to her personality, and everything else in between. He commonly found fault with her intelligence, and any choices she made for herself, he would plainly tell her that she was wrong and that she wasn’t good enough. He would often say, “You’ll never amount to anything.” She often said that it was so oppressive because she couldn’t show anyone black and blue marks — all the marks were internal ones.
One way she chose to deal with this abuse was by experiencing anorexia. By the time she was 19, she checked into a mental hospital for a month so that she could overcome this debilitating disease. She overcame it. In fact, she ended up making a decision to think differently about her father. Instead of always trying to please him (which had not worked in all her time in this life with him), she decided to think in terms of pleasing herself first. She decided that nothing was more important than that she feel good about herself. She chose to study artwork, and she chose friends she adored, and she chose the best place on earth for her to live. Her father disapproved. She told herself that no matter what her father thought, she was happy with her own choices, and that was all that mattered. This was very wise.
In a fairly short time, the most amazing thing happened. Her father called her one day and asked how she was doing. She told him she was doing well, that she was happy and successful at doing what she loved. He then said something that Christy never thought she’d hear from her father: he said, “I’m proud of you.”
By letting go of the need for her father’s approval, Christy changed her entire relationship to him, and therefore, her entire experience of him. She had to truly let go, and it had taken some practice, but she had made the transition by thinking different thoughts about her situation and by turning all of her focus and attention on what made HER happy (not him!).
We can get to stress relief through the little thoughts that we think about our daily lives. We can access it in a split second, since it’s up to us using our brains and directing our focus where we want it to be. And most of all, we are the ones in charge of controlling our thoughts and therefore our lives! How powerful is that?

Living Life With Less Stress
August 21, 2007 at 9:29 pm | In Stress Release | No CommentsIs it a crazy notion that there is more to life than the hectic busy-ness, recurrent melancholy and rampant stress that is a constant in most modern lives? What more could there be, you ask? How about ease, joy, freedom, to name a few. I can hear the chorus now, those nay-sayers chanting, “but those things are just plain lazy!” No, they are our divine birthright, and the reason they feel so good when you’re in them is the indication that you are headed in the healthy, loving, ecstatic direction!
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. We come in bursting with dreams, creativity and endless playfulness, and this comes all so easily. Remember when you were a child, running from wonderful thing to wonderful thing. Like in a giant amusement park, we ran (not walked!) to the next fun and exciting ride. Our curiosity in constant overdrive, delighting in all things, both small and large. It was easy to have such excitement since everything was so new. When we remember these beginnings, we can see through new eyes today, here and now, and let the ease of life back in.
Joy is the meaning of life, plain and simple. We are here to find our joy — all-ways! Joseph Campbell said, “follow your bliss,” meaning to follow that which brings you joy. You may have heard from many modern day psychologists that when you find work that you love, not only do you have more potential for earning more money, you also have the best chance at being truly happy in life. Pain and suffering are truly only in existence to help us realize what is REALLY important to us, and help us to move in a more healing and joyful direction. If the stove is hot, you move away from it, you don’t take some pain medication to numb yourself and then put your hand on it! Joy is making a realization (a KNOWING) that you deserve something better and then moving toward it enthusiastically.
Freedom is the basis for all like everywhere. We are truly free — no matter what — at all times. Children know this innately, and then adults attempt to beat it out of them. You could be locked up, the key thrown away, but you always have YOU: your mind, your thoughts, your feelings, your vibration. You constantly have a choice. You can choose to see things in a negative way, or you can choose to see things in a better way. It’s the famous “glass half full, or half empty” analogy. How you perceive the world and events in it is completely up to you. You are truly free, and once you realize that fact, you can change your world with the lightening speed of thought.
Embrace your easy, joyful, and free spirit! The more you do, the less stressful your life becomes, the more the universe opens up to you (because you are open to the universe). Your job is to look for what is fun to you — that is the key. When you find what is fun, you can’t help but relax and enjoy the moment. You are powerful beyond measure, and I hope that you know that everything always works out for the best.

Law of Attraction Made Easy
August 1, 2007 at 4:46 am | In Stress Release | No CommentsA long time ago, I had the good fortune of meeting a young man who always had a unique and (usually) optimistic perspective on life. He often astounded me with his thoughts and viewpoints, always in a good way. Of the many wise philosophies this young man had, I will always remember the way in which he described the law of attraction.
My young friend had recently moved from Hollywood back to the Bay Area, and he had taken a job at a bank, mostly because it was what he knew before he had moved to Hollywood to become a somewhat successful television show producer. He had tired of life in the fast lane and wanted to slow things down a bit. Banking was easy, logical, and slow. Of course, after almost a year, he was ready to move on (it may also have had something to do with the fact that he had been living back home with his parents). It was at this point that I had seen him and he offered up his philosophy.
He said that he was interested in moving back to Texas (did I mention he had lived in Texas before moving to Hollywood? Well, I also didn’t mention that he had lived in Hawaii either). And that’s when it happened. He made such a simple observation, but it is so very wise. He said, “Have you ever noticed that when you make a decision, and you turn your attention in it’s direction, that things start happening to guide you, and eventually you end up there?” That’s the law of attraction in a nutshell.
You make a decision, turn your thoughts in its direction, trust that you will be guided, and it will happen!
I don’t know where my young friend is today, but I do know that, as always, he is following his bliss and allowing his guidance to light the way. Thank you my wise friend, wherever you are in this glorious wide world of attraction!
Peace and love.

Breathe Daily With Us
July 18, 2007 at 10:05 pm | In BREATHE | No CommentsDo you ever find yourself holding your breath? I for one notice that I am holding my breath…often!
How then if I find myself so frequently holding my breath is it that I am still alive? I can tell you this with certainty: an individual is not living to his/her fullest potential if breathing is constricted by lack of awareness. Fret not my friends and let us breathe together. The moment we begin to notice our patterns of breathing or absence thereof is the moment we begin living from our true power. So notice the breath and breathe with me; you can rest assured that when you read this and take that first breath in powerful awareness that I will be here breathing too.
As we notice the breath moving within and without, the frequency of peaceful thoughts increases exponentially. From this place of awareness and presence, our emotional guidance becomes clear and we are able to connect and move powerfully toward all the joy, abundance and peace that our desire and source has created for us since our birth.
From the mind that creates its reality powerfully, you will find a mind drenched in the energy that only breath and the presence created by awareness of the rhythms of the breath creates.
Just keep coming back to the breathing with your awareness and awareness will grow. In short life becomes easier as you strengthen all aspects of your being when such a practice is followed with effortless consistency. Let the breath come in and let the brain grow. Let the breath come in and allow the radiations of your peaceful soul to shine throughout your world. Let the breath come now and all actions and thoughts move to a place of non-resistance; a place enraptured with the energy that creates worlds.

A Quick Breathing Break
April 27, 2007 at 4:00 pm | In BREATHE | 3 CommentsAs you sit and read these words on the computer screen, you are instantly transported to a moment in time that is peaceful and joyous. You might already feel yourself taking a deeper breath than the one before, and you might feel yourself sitting just a bit straighter, adjusting your shoulders, and noticing any tension or tightness. Feel the sensations in your body, and just notice any tension. Take a nice, deep breath, fully filling your lungs to capacity, then exhaling, evenly and slowly, until all the breath is completely out, letting your solar plexus push out even more air, even when you thought there was no more left to exhale.
Now take another deep and cleansing breath, breathing in relaxation and vibrant health, bringing powerful strength and energy to every cell of your being. Let this vibrant health flow through you on a constant basis, as it always does, and feel the tingling sensations, however subtle they are, as your body accepts the healing energy. Stretch your arms and legs, gently move your head side to side, or rolling it as you see fit, moving your body, taking nice, deep breaths, releasing any and all tension in this moment.
Relaxing and healthy in this moment, allow yourself in this moment to just BE.
And always remember to breathe!
The Baroque Exercise
April 25, 2007 at 1:26 am | In Stress Release | No CommentsTo be precise, exacting and clear, let us together explore the symphony of the healthy human body. As music could not exist without the ears to hear, the body will begin to retreat to non-existence without the proper playing of the notes of wellness. Can you name a necessary counterpoint to the movement of the physical body that when exercised creates optimal growth in response to the resistance? That’s right…exercise!
At the onset of such a journey of exploration, one must proactively and joyfully chart a course and prepare the tools and resources to insure one will achieve the desired destination. Since we will undertake this adventure together I will prepare our list.
We will bring: A Map. We must have a picture of where we want to be. For our physical benefit and the reason for this journey we should have a clear idea of the body we would like to inhabit. For this map let us cut out pictures from magazines, take photos with our minds of the ideal figure that we wish to embody. This map is necessary for two reasons: one, we will know we have arrived if we have a clear picture of the goal, and having a map reminds us of the journey we are on.
Next we need some tools. You have many at your disposal. So many in fact that you really do not need to bring them all…you are well equipped, loved and supported. The tools you will need are light and always you are happy when you are using them. Happiness is the light, the sustenance, the path, and the clarity of vision along the journey. Happiness is the skip in the step on the elliptical machine of life!
We are ready to begin. We have all we need to realize successful co-creative relationships grounded in health and wellness. To recap: We have a map and goals clear in our mind and happiness to guide, support and remind us that we are on an important journey. This is no less than the most valuable task you will ever undertake. This is the journey of your becoming and nothing can prevent your free will from making this dream a reality.
You are loved and supported on your path to clarity, joy and abundance. Let your inner guidance radiate. Worry not about your partners along the way. Always you will meet those who will support you in this co-creative journey. You are here to teach less with your words and more with your clarity, happiness and the detailed map of your future accomplishments.

Recipe for Extreme Stress Relief
March 28, 2007 at 10:32 pm | In Stress Release | No CommentsAs we move through life it can be exciting, invigorating and stressful. Sometimes, much too stressful. So what is it you need to emerge stronger and in peace when life’s everyday hustle and bustle goes to an exteme?
What we need and recommend is many moments alone. These moments must be conscious and concentrated to the extreme…for extreme stress must be balanced by extreme relaxation. So a few minutes alone in the car before shopping does not cut it. We must thoughtfully set aside a quiet place and time for conscious relaxation. This time should be at least one half hour with these ingredients:
One part deep breathing/alt. nostril breathing
One part guided meditation and/or hypno-session
And two parts silence.
During this time the only noise should be in your ears and brain. As we know the mind will always do what minds do…chatter. Allow this to be OK and stay in awareness of the breathing. Know that you are perfect just as you are, and you deserve only the best life has to offer. You are a beautiful being and presence here in this world, and you are truly valuable because only YOU can contribute in this life what you came here to contribute—no one else can be a better you!
This recipe surely will be so tasty… and calorie free! If you think about it, it’s really not much time out of a 24-hour period, and it’s worth a small fortune if it gets you to relax and feel good about yourself. Just imagine how much more productive you are when you are fully centered and empowered! Take the time to create this “recipe for wellness” and your life will be filled with many wonderful moments.
Peace be with you friends,

Stress RELEASE
March 19, 2007 at 5:29 am | In Stress Release | No CommentsHow do you ease stress? What a question! How pertinent the question is as a poignant reminder to say yes and return to your powerful center. For surely when we are centered and grounded we express an easy and relaxed air. You know such moments when we start and breathe deeply with gratitude. It is within said moments we remember with all senses the meaning of life beyond concepts, deadlines and what reigns in our heart is of primary importance. That which reigns is peace. All the dramas of our cultural inheritance, our upbringing, the memories and mental filters dissolve and your true beauty shines. So again I ask: How do you ease stress?
Recently with a steamy cup of tea and a day of leisurely memories behind me, I sat with laptop open and an unhurried canine at my side. Out to explore what it really means to embody ease and breathe thoughtfully. Mind you I am no expert on the subtleties of pranayama, the art of breathing within full awareness, however I must make mention of the importance of mindful breathing to you.
When we hold our breath we freeze time. Have you ever heard it put quite like this? “Preposterous” some may say. Again I am no expert though something I noticed which at once I knew I must share with you “popped” into my consciousness recently. It was this: our body is a time capsule and conscious, focused breathing practice is the key to the machine if you will. Secondly, when we hold our breath we stop time. Have you like so many others experienced the feeling of fearful breathlessness? A moment of fear so gut wrenching so as to hold your breathe in attempt to hide from the event? When we stop breathing in such moments, fear is literally stored in the cells of the body. The very first time you held your breath in fear, a pattern was created, a neural pathway, a habitual way finely worn over the months and years. It still affects you today; for better or worse.
There are many of us who are awakening now and taking life giving breaths deeply into our center. Take a moment now to join us…go ahead wherever you are; no matter who you are surrounded by; if you are alone take a breath deeply now.
Was that difficult? Did you breathe in deeply now? If it is easy or difficult for you… good. You are alive and on a path as a spiritual being having a human experience. What you will find if you have difficulty sustaining a constant rhythm, is that you are thinking too much. Interestingly enough thoughts, especially the habitual ones, are quite often little memories frozen in time. In fact it is surmised by some that most thoughts that occur throughout our day are the selfsame ones we had years ago. Now this is relatively true for most people though not absolutely true for all people. Join the small percentage of people who live fully in enlightened presence and breathe. Let us be the majority.
Let your conscious breathing practice move you to a place secure in your center. Allow your deep breathing to guide your inner wisdom to a haven within. From here you may witness the pattern of your thoughts. Realize habits and repetitive thoughts are only a small aspect of your true potential. Like light through a pinhole in an otherwise dark box, take your breath with you, shatter the box like thoughts and step fully now into light. You are safe here, you are loved and all is well.
May the breath be with you,
3 Easy Steps to Find What You Value Most
March 14, 2007 at 10:52 pm | In Stress Release | 3 CommentsI’ve noticed time and time again, that people tend to make choices in their lives with little or no regard to their values. In fact, I would say that most people don’t have a clear picture of what they value most! There are, luckily, some easy and sound methods to finding those values that are the top ones in your life, and you’re reading this to find out!
First, take a good look around you. Look at your home, your family, your job, your hobbies. What is the first thing you think of in the morning? What is it that you spend most of your time doing? Your ACTIONS will give you a very clear idea of what you have been stressing in your life. For example, even if you say you want a lot of money, what are you actually doing to generate money, and how much are you actually bringing in? If you say relaxing is what you most value, how are you applying that in your life right now? Take a piece of paper, and on the left hand side, write down a list of the activities in your daily life—the ones that repeat over and over again. Then, for each item on the list, write a value on the right hand side. For example, if you work long, hard hours, you might list “dedication” or “responsible” as a value. It will depend on how you view what you are doing. No matter what, the values will always be a positive attribute even if you think the action to be negative.
The second step would be to take another sheet of paper and write down your dream day. What would you do if you had all the money in the world, and all your problems were easily solved? All you have to do is dream about what your everyday life would be like. Tell the story of a single day where you wake up at home (your dream home!) and go through the day as you would like it to be. Once you’re finished with that, take another sheet of paper and list the activities from your dream day on the left hand side, and when you’re finished, list the value on the right hand side. For instance, if you said you cook a gourmet breakfast for your family in the morning, maybe the value is “family” or “love” or even “health.”
The third step is to take a look at both value lists and compare them. What are you doing right now in your life that is in alignment with your dream day? If you’re like most people, the lists might be total opposites! If you have a few things in common, fantastic! Cultivate those things and work to make the others more prominent. This third step is about being real about where you are now, and getting clearer on where you want to be. Look over all the values you’ve listed and circle the ones that have THE MOST meaning to you. Get out another sheet of paper and list those values from top to bottom, with the top being the most important. So they are now in the order of importance. The top five are the ones to really focus on. Yes, all the others are important as well, but those top five are key to living the life of your dreams!
Now that you have a working list of true values, you are in the top 1%-3%! Most people never take the time to get a clear picture of where they stand with their values and what this means in their life. This list is a work in progress—you will always be changing, so your values will shift and change as well. But now you have the tools to gage your values any time you wish! To live the life of your dreams, start making decisions and choices based on what you truly value.

A Healed World In Every Breath
March 7, 2007 at 5:12 am | In BREATHE | No CommentsIn this miraculous new world in which we live there are those who believe that we have gotten, as a collective humanity, a little too big for our britches. Many feel humanity has created a stress inducing monster of a culture that surely will be the tipping point for another fall from health to a state of sickness and despair.
I am here to tell everyone that this fear is simply preposterous. We are descended from the infinite and being so there is nothing that man could create that could ever be too big, or overwhelming as to cause a decline of health and wellness. A single individual with enough focus has the ability to change the weather and influence the cosmos. How much more will our power grow when we see one another on the soul level rather than the level of thoughts and concepts. When we realize that we all have the same fears and love and dreams at a deep and common level, we will change the world overnight to a place of peace and tranquility.
We are what we most consistently focus on. What do you focus on with all your hearts intent that is harmonious with your awakening? If only for a moment you realize that compassion is in your heart there is nothing in creation that can take it from you ever.
We will heal the heart of the Earth with our thoughts and actions. Stay connected with your breath ever increasing it’s depth. Here is your power…use it wisely and for the good of all.
